African Women football champions, the Super Falcons, on Wednesday morning, took their protest against Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) over unpaid bonuses and allowances to the National Assembly and the streets of the Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
All the members of the victorious Super Falcons, including the players, coaches and other backroom staff, are being owed bonuses and allowances from the qualifying matches to the gold medal winning match against host, Cameroon, in the recently concluded African Women Football Championship.
Since returning from Cameroon, the team had engaged in a sit in protest at their Agura Hotel, Abuja and have also refused to hand over the trophy they won to NFF officials.
Members of team, who displayed various placards, trekked from their hotel to the entrance of the National Assembly, where they are currently protesting their ill treatment by the NFF.
The team members and officials are being separately owed various amounts, ranging from $25,000 to $50,000.
