The third suicide bomber with the defused suicide vest around her neck

A third suicide bomber has been intercepted at an area close to the rear fence of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), in Borno State, just as the casualty figure from the early morning twin bomb explosions in the university has risen to four.
Seventeen people have also been confirmed injured in the attack, which occurred around 5am, on Monday.
Among the dead was a professor of veterinary medicine in the university, Aliyu Mani. Others were a yet-to-be-identified infant, as well as the two suicide bombers.
According to Ohi Odiai, head of news at City FM 105.1, in Lagos, a third female suicide bomber of about 12 years was intercepted at Bara Kayari village, behind UNIMAID, in Muna Garage general area, around 8am.
The suicide bomber was sighted by villagers, who promptly alerted the military men on patrol in the area.
She was immediately gunned down, while EOD personnel secured and defused her unexploded IED vest.
Tweets by the National Emergency Management Agency revealed that the explosions occurred simultaneously at the institutions’ junior staff mosque, near Gate 1, while the second occurred near Gate 5, around 5am during Subhi prayers.

It was learnt that one of the suicide bombers, said to a boy of around seven years, was gunned down by a mobile policeman guiding the gate, when he became suspicious of his movement. His bomb, subsequently, exploded and killed him instantly.
