Suicide Attempt Foiled as Police Stop Chartered Accountant from Jumping into Lagos Lagoon

The timely intervention of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) officers prevented a man from committing suicide in Lagos today.

The man, who was later found to be a chartered accountant, had attempted to jump off the Third Mainland Bridge into the lagoon.

According to the RRS in a post on Facebook, it’s men who accosted the victim, whose Identity was not disclosed, later took him to the Adekunle police station in Yaba.

The post reads: “This man, (name withheld) was prevented from jumping off Third Mainland Bridge into the Lagoon this morning.

“We had a little chat with him and he revealed that he’s a graduate and a chartered accountant.

“He was handed over to Adekunle Police Station, who contacted his family.”
