A youth corps member undergoing his national youth service in Rivers State has called attention of Nigerians to the plight of students of some secondary schools in the state.
The corps member who gave his name as Adeleye Adedayo, said he currently serves in Community Secondary School Rumuepirikom, in Obioakpor local government area of the state.
According to him, many students of the school sit on the floor and sometimes in the open to take classes and write examination.
In a series of tweets he shared on his handle, @sawftofficial, he claimed that some of the students are writing their ongoing examination outside the classroom.
According to him, the situation is the same in some other schools in the area.
While bemoaning the fate of the students, he appealed to well-meaning Nigerians to come to their aid by providing them with classroom furniture.

*My name is Adeleye Adedayo. I’m a graduate of University of Lagos, department of Educational Management. I’m presently undergoing my one year compulsory National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) programme in Rivers State. I was posted to Community Secondary School Rumuepirikom, Obioakpor L.G as my Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).
“It is with deep concern for the future of this state and country that I’m appealing to well-meaning Nigerians and indigenes of Rivers State to come to the rescue of students of this school.
“Presently, exams have started and if you get to this school, you will see students outside their classrooms writing exams on the floor. With your help, we can get 1000 chairs and tables to distribute to not just this school but other schools around suffering from the same problem.
