IFAT Africa and analytica Lab Africa will be co-located at the Gallagher Convention Centre from 8 – 10 July 2025, bringing together two leading trade fairs to foster cross-industry collaboration and innovation.

Organised by Messe Muenchen India and Messe München GmbH, analytica Lab Africa is South Africa’s premier trade fair for laboratory technology, analysis, biotechnology, and diagnostics, while IFAT Africa is the continent’s leading event for water, sewage, waste, and recycling solutions. The co-location aims to optimise synergies across these interconnected sectors, offering attendees access to an extensive showcase of cutting-edge technologies, expert-led talks, training sessions, and industry workshops.

Avisha Desai, Business Unit Head (Consumer & Capital Goods) & International Business at Messe Muenchen India, highlights the strategic benefits:

“By co-locating these events, we create a dynamic ecosystem that integrates industries such as environmental technologies, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, mining, food and beverage, chemicals, petrochemicals, energy, and biotechnology. Water security and environmental management, for example, rely on precise laboratory analysis. This platform will facilitate knowledge exchange, business growth, and innovation across multiple sectors.”

Industry leaders have also welcomed the move.

James Morisse, spokesperson at NuWater, sees direct benefits:

“Accurate water analysis is critical to our engineered water treatment solutions. The co-location strengthens collaboration between analytical services and engineered solutions, enhancing efficiency and innovation.”

Lomo Senoamadi, CEO of BICS, underscores the value of cross-industry engagement:

“The synergy between laboratory and environmental technology aligns with our mission to deliver cutting-edge solutions across industries. This co-location fosters collaboration and meaningful connections.”

Zuma Nonkululeko, Technical Specialist at NTE, adds:

“Bridging environmental management and laboratory analysis creates exciting opportunities for sustainability and innovation. Attendees will benefit from a comprehensive platform to explore solutions across the entire value chain.”

Sarah Cohen, Executive Officer at SALDA (Southern Africa Laboratory Diagnostics Association), emphasizes the role of collaboration in unlocking new opportunities:

“SALDA members work closely with key stakeholders, including industry associations, public and private pathology groups, and government bodies such as the Department of Health and the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition. This event enhances industry-wide engagement and progress.”
