After the commencement of intensive stop and search with aggressive vehicular patrol in line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu in Ondo, yesterday, the police at Zone XI have taken further steps to keep criminals at bay today.
Following intelligence reports on the activities of kidnappers and other criminals using the waterways in Ondo, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone XI, Mr Leye Oyebade, today embarked on a surveillance mission and on-the-ground assessment of rivers around Ilaje Local Government Area of the state.
Oyebade visited the Police Marine Base at Igbokoda, in Ilaje area of Ondo State where he held a lecture with officers and men.
He also visited the Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base, Igbokoda, for close synergy with the sister security agency.
Oyebade told his officers yesterday: “You must intensify visibility policing through intensive stop and search, aggressive vehicular patrol, and use of the technical platform to address heinous crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, murder, cattle rustling, rape, burglary, cultism, etc so that we can keep the society safer and more secure.”
