Spokesman Confirms Hacking of VP Osinbajo’s Twitter Account

Laolu Akande, the Senior Special Assistant to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Media, has confirmed that an attempt was made to hack his boss’ Twitter account yesterday.

Though, he claimed that the attempt was successfully countered but the VP’s Twitter handle had been unresponsive all through yesterday.

Checks on the handle, @ProfOsinbajo, earlier today revealed only three tweets, which were retweets of an N-Power animation on August 3rd.

The handle also has no history, photos or any semblance to what it used to be.

Also, the handle has become unverified while the profile and header images have been removed.

Akande’s tweet reads: “Yesterday, there were failed external attempts to gain unauthorized access to the Vice President’s Twitter Account. Since, we have been in contact with Twitter, securing the account, and forestalling a reoccurrence. The VP will continue to actively communicate with our citizens.”
