A 5th grade student of Bryant Elementary School, Cobb County School District in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, Master Spencer Kehinde, has been declared as a winner of the 2024 Youth Essay Contest organised by Delta Community Credit Union.
Ten-year-old Spencer Kehinde has received his certificate from the organisers, who also awarded him a $100 Delta Community Youth Savings Account.
The 2024 Youth Essay Contest was open to third, fourth and fifth grade students enrolled in a school within the 16 metro Atlanta counties the Credit Union serves.
NewsmakersNG learnt that Spencer Kehinde has a plethora of academic achievements.
Georgia’s largest credit union launched the contest in 2016 to recognize the importance of youth financial education and invest in future generations.
Contestants were required to submit an essay of 75 words or less answering this year’s essay question: If you had unlimited money, what would you do to make an impact at your school?
From March 1 through March 31, 2024, the essays were completed and submitted online at DeltaCommunityCU.com/YouthEssayContest.
Seven student winners from each grade level were selected based on their essay responses and awarded a $100 Delta Community Youth Savings Account.
As part of its commitment to community education, Delta Community has also offered two scholarship programs and hundreds of free classes in metro Atlanta through its Financial Education Centre.
