Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State governor on Health, Oreoluwa Finnih, has revealed that some elites in the state who have been confirmed positive for COVID-19 are avoiding the state government’s isolation centres.
Finnih disclosed this via her Twitter handle, @Oreoluwa_Finnih, yesterday.
According to her, health workers spend a lot of time chasing after this category of COVID-19 patients thus making their job more difficult.
She consequently appealed to such patients to cooperate with health workers, noting that people are “recovering and going home” from the isolation centres.
She tweeted, “Please àwa Elites, I’m appealing to you to make our lives easier. When we call that you’re positive to Covid19 and should get ready for evacuation please, pleas, please, comply. I know its hard to hear but people are recovering and going home.
“We’re dissipating energy, begging you, chasing you, trying to convince you to be picked up… This is an emergency. If it gets out of hand it won’t spare anybody ooo…. Thank you for your understanding.”
