One of the students abducted by Boko Haram from Government Science Secondary School in Kankara, Katsina State, last Friday, has revealed that some of his fellow abductees have died in captivity.
The student broke the news in a video released by the extremist group, today, showing some of the abducted students.
The six-and-a-half-minutes video also features a speech from Boko Haram factional leader, Abubakar Shekau.
The boy who spoke in the video also disclosed that 520 students were abducted from the school. He however did not specify how many have died.
He also called on the federal government to close all schools, dissolve all vigilance groups and pay the ransom demanded by their abductors.
He warned the government against using force to rescue them.
At a point, many of the boys, who look extremely worried, exhausted and hungry, started wailing: “Help us! Help us!”
In the last part, Shekau spoke in an audio recording saying they released the video because of those who claimed that he was lying.
He said his group was doing God’s work.
