Fresh facts have emerged that it was Bianca, the wife of late Biafra warlord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who slapped Ebelechukwu, the wife of the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano.

The News Agency of Nigeria had initially reported that it was Ebelechukwu that triggered the fight between the duo.

The fight disrupted the swearing-in of the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, on Thursday.

From the video of the event, Ebelechukwu was seen to have stood up from where she sat, walked straight to where Bianca was seated, after the seat occupied by Soludo and his wife, and spoke with her.

Reports have it that Ebelechukwu questioned Bianca’s presence at the inauguration after she (Bianca) had vowed not to attend any function organised by the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

Soludo was elected on the platform of APGA, a party founded by Bianca’s husband.

Bianca took her time to stand up a short while after Ebelechukwu had bent down by her seat talking and then landed a slap on the face of the wife of the outgone governor.

At this stage, security men intervened, stopping further altercation between the two.

Soludo issued a statement after the inauguration, apologising for the show of shame.

In a statement on Thursday, the Media Aide to Soludo, Joe Anatune, said the breach was caused by improper communication, which arose from a personal issue between the two parties involved.

According to him, the breach, which disrupted proceedings at the event, happened after Ebelechukwu approached Bianca and muttered some words that led to fisticuffs.

“Sadly, the fight took the shine off the main event of the day,” the statement read in part.

Soludo said steps were being taken to resolve the misunderstanding and restore the parties to their previous relationship.

“Anambra State has over the years been known for a huge stock of social harmony, and the stock will increase substantially in the years ahead as part of the concerted effort to accelerate the state’s development,” he added.
