Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) the winner of the November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State after an overwhelming victory across all 21 Local Government Areas.

According to the Returning Officer, Edoba Omoregie, Vice-Chancellor of University of Benin, Soludo garnered 422,664 valid votes, far ahead of his closest rival Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 99,445.

Meanwhile, Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) secured 37,753 votes.
With total registered voters numbering 2,788,864, the accredited voter count stood at 598,229. Valid votes tallied to 584,054, while rejected votes numbered 11,244, bringing total cast votes to 595,298.

Omoregie disclosed that minor cancellations due to reported incidents occurred in parts of Anambra West, Anaocha, Awka South and Onitsha South LGAs, affecting approximately 10,481 votes. However, he affirmed the margin of lead was not compromised by those cancellations.

In his statement, Omoregie declared: “I, Prof. Edoba Omoregie … hereby declare that the election was peaceful. Chukwuma Soludo … having scored 422,664 votes, the highest number of valid votes cast … is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”

The complete breakdown of results shows a clean sweep by Soludo’s APGA across every LGA, demonstrating strong state-wide support.
