Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, has disclosed that the five new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria include a six-week-old baby and another person that entered the country through the land border.
While briefing journalists in Abuja today, the minister said the other patients included the mother of the infected baby, both of whom arrived from the US and two others who arrived from the UK.
He said the fifth patient, who came in via Nigeria’s land border, was an American on a biking trip, adding that there were two of them but only one tested positive.
Out of the five new cases, the minister said one was in Ekiti State, while the remaining four are located in Lagos.
The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria is now eight.
