The Oyo State Police Command has arrested six suspects for allegedly gang-raping a lady (name withheld) and posting a video of the act and nude pictures of the victim on social media.

The Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, disclosed this yesterday while parading the suspects at the command headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan.

She said the woman was lured into a local bar where she was forced to consume a sedative.

She said that the incident happened in Alausa Community, Idi-Igba area of Oyo town.

The suspects were identified as Isijola Okeowo, Amusan Abiodun, Daniel Amusan, Mayowa Fadokun, Glory Nwanga, and Olasunkanmi Taiwo.

Onadeko explained that as soon as the victim became unconscious due to the effect of the sedative, the hoodlums took her into one of the rooms in the bar where four of them subsequently took turns to have unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

According to her, “the (alleged) rapists invited a female member of their gang to take pictures and make video recordings of the unlawful sexual activity and later forwarded the obscene sexual content to another hoodlum who published same on social media platforms with the intent to further discredit the victim.”

The CP said, “Upon interrogation, the suspects made confessional statements to the crime and explained the roles each of them played in it.”
