The Christ Apostolic Church, Way-To-Life, Ottawa, witnessed a heartwarming and spirit-filled event as the youths and children took charge of the 2024 Youth and Children’s Harvest at the weekend.
With the theme “The Children and the Church of God,” the young ones dazzled the congregation through a series of captivating activities that left an indelible mark on everyone present.
From the moment Adenike Adeoye led the congregation in praise and worship, it was clear that the children were not just participating but truly leading the service. Harry, embodying the role of a pastor, delivered a sermon that resonated deeply, quoting Matthew 18: 3-4 to remind the church of the purity and humility required to enter the kingdom of heaven.
The children, under the guidance of their dedicated teachers, brought to life the 13 tenets of the Christ Apostolic Church through drama, song ministrations, and choreographed dance. Their performances were more than just entertainment; they were powerful lessons in faith, unity, and the importance of every role within the church.
The drama titled “Government of the Church: The 9th Tenet of CAC” highlighted the potential for misunderstanding within church roles and beautifully conveyed that all posts are equal and vital in God’s house.
One of the most touching moments was the blessing and prize-giving for children transitioning from elementary to youth classes. Pastor Adefisayo Adefarahan blessed the level-changing children, and Evangelist Ibukun Ojo presented them with gifts, marking a significant milestone in their spiritual journey.
Senior Pastor Debo Adeoye expressed his gratitude to God for the growth in both the church’s physical space and its spiritual nurturing, particularly the increase in children’s teachers. He emphasized the importance of encouraging children to love and obey God, noting how this year’s larger auditorium and expanded teaching staff contributed to the remarkable performances.
Behind the scenes, Evangelist Omowunmi Adeoye played a pivotal role, ensuring the children were well-prepared, supervising the youths, and attending to the welfare of all participants. The success of the event was also a testament to the dedication of the Harvest Committee, including Evangelists Nimam Kolo, Tomi Olaiya, Paul Anka Grace, Ruth Adegbaju, Seun Akingbehin, Yemi Shola, and Omowunmi Adeoye.
As the event concluded, it was clear that these young stars had not only led a memorable service but had also inspired the congregation with their faith, talent, and unity. The 2024 Youth and Children’s Harvest will be remembered as a shining example of the next generation’s commitment to their faith and the church.
