“Nothing will ever compare with the pain of losing a child.”
Those were the words of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as he paid a condolence visit to the family of Precious Owolabi, the Channels TV reporter killed during the clash between Shi’ites and the police in Abuja last Monday.
Owolabi, a National Youth Service Corps member serving in the TV station was reportedly hit by a stray bullet during the Shi’ites protest, which degenerated into a violent clash with the police.
The Vice President who arrived Kaduna about 3pm today was accompanied on the visit to the deceased’s family by the Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
In a post about the visit on his verified Twitter handle, @ProfOsinbajo, the Vice President wrote: “This evening, I visited the family of Precious Owolabi and as a nation, we grieve the loss of this bright young man.
“May the Almighty God comfort the family and loved ones.”
