Senator Grieves over Victims of Ogun School Building Collapse

The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Tolu Odebiyi, has commiserated with families of students affected by the school building collapse in the state over the weekend.

A classroom building of Nazareth High School, in the Imeko-Afon area of the state, had collapsed and killed one student.

NewsmakersNG learned that two other students were also injured.

The injured students were taken to hospital for treatment, while the deceased, identified as Muinat Ilebiyi, was said to have been buried, according to Islamic rites.

A statement today by the senator’s media office reads, “With a heavy heart, the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District commiserates with the families of all the students affected by the Nazareth High school building collapse. The ill-fated event resulted in the death of Miss Muinat Ilebiyi, whilst two other students were injured as well.

“The Ogun West Senator described the incident as a heartbreaking tragedy and urges the State government to investigate the cause to avoid any repeat occurrence.

“Sen. Odebiyi mournfully shares in the pains of families of victims affected by this unfortunate accident.

“He also prays that God will comfort, and grant the Ilebiyi family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss of this brilliant student and soothe the pains of those injured and affected due to the sad incident that happened in Nazareth High School.”
