Senate Confirms Buhari’s Nominee Rejected in 2016 for Low Academic Qualifications

Pat Stevens/

The Senate today approved the appointment of  Mr Aliyu Abubakar, as a non-executive commissioner on the board of the National Communications Commission (NCC).

Abubakar, from Bauchi State, was last week nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari to represent the North-East on the board.

He was nominated for the same position despite his rejection by the eighth Senate because of low educational qualifications.

Aside Abubakar, the Senate also confirmed Uba Maska as Executive Commissioner, and Professor Millionaire Abowei and Abdulazeez Salman as Non-Executive Commissioners.
