Sen Lekan Balogun Set to Become Next Olubadan

Ololade Adeyanju/

The Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Senator Lekan Balogun, is next in line as the Olubadan of Ibadan following the demise of Oba Saliu Adetunji today

This is in accordance with the laid-down hierarchy of ascension to the Olubadan throne.

NewsmakersNG reports that the hierarchical arrangement in the Olubadan succession line recognizes the Balogun and the Otun Olubadan as successors on a rotational basis.

Oba Saliu Adetunji was crowned the 41st Olubadan of Ibadan following his coronation on March 4, 2016.

Prior to his coronation, Oba Adetunji was the Balogun of Ibadanland, meaning that the Otun Olubadan is next in line according to the rotational system.

Oba Adetunji passed away in the early hours of today at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Oyo State. He was 93.
