Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has reacted strongly after Kwara State Govt reportedly filed armed robbery charges against him and ex-Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed Lawal, calling the move “insidious” and “frivolous”.
“I have nothing to do directly or indirectly with any case of armed robbery or any criminal matter whatsoever,” Saraki said on X.
He alleged the Offa robbery case “was designed under the Buhari administration… as an instrument of blackmail”.
Citing prior legal advice, he said the DPP found “no prima facie case” linking him to the offence.
Saraki also described the move as “abuse of court process” and “dirty politics taken too far”, adding: “My legal team will definitely meet this governor in court.”
