Dethroned Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II arrived the chartered wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja this evening.
He was welcomed by dozens of his relatives who had waited nearly two hours for his arrival.
Well-wishers had already gathered around the airport’s terminal by 7pm.
A former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau had arrived a few minutes past nine in a convoy to await Sanusi’s arrival.
Sanusi left Awe, Nasarawa State, where he was banished to after his dethronement, in company with Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State after leading the Jumaat prayers this afternoon.
His next destination is not known yet but sources say Sanusi may eventually settle down in Lagos.
