The Nigerian Embassy in Kiev, Ukraine, has told Nigerians in the country to take responsibility for their own safety, following the declaration of war by Russia.
No fewer than 40 persons have been killed in Ukraine as the bombardment of Ukraine by Russia entered the second day.
In a travel advisory released by the embassy, Nigerian citizens were also advised to make their own private arrangements in case they choose to leave Ukraine for another country.
The advisory by the embassy was also shared by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) on its Twitter handle.

Meanwhile, the The Embassy of India in Ukraine has informed all Indian nationals in the country that alternative arrangements are being made to evacuate them from the Ukraine following the closure of the country’s airspace to special flight arrangements.
The Embassy in a notice to its national said the “alternative arrangements which will be duly communicated soon is on course to ensure their evacuation”.
They were also advised “to always carry their passports” with them.

In separate statement, the Indian government further stated, “Team from Embassy of India in Hungary has been despatched to the border post Zohanyi to coordinate and provide assistance to facilitate exit of Indian nationals from Ukraine. Mission is working with with Govt of Hungary to provide all possible assistance.”
