The Rotary Club of Ibadan Bodija Estate reinforced its commitment to fellowship and community service with a vibrant birthday celebration for Rotarians, Rotaractors, and members of the public born in March.
The event, held on Saturday, March 28, at the Rotary Club House on Oluyole Way, New Bodija, Ibadan, drew participants from across District 9126 for an evening of camaraderie, networking, and celebration, complete with music, food, and drinks.
Welcoming guests, the Club President, Rotarian Victor Giwa, PHF, described the gathering as a strategic initiative to deepen bonds among members while creating an atmosphere that is both engaging and rewarding. He noted that beyond celebration, the event was designed to strengthen unity within the Rotary family.

In his remarks, the Chartered President, Rotarian Kayode Odeleye, underscored the core values of Rotary, urging members to remain steadfast in their commitment to service. He reiterated the organisation’s guiding principle of “Service Above Self,” stressing the need for Rotarians to dedicate their time, resources, and expertise to humanitarian causes.
Odeleye further highlighted Rotary’s structured areas of focus, which guide its interventions globally. These include Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention; Disease Prevention and Treatment; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene; Maternal and Child Health; Basic Education and Literacy; Economic and Community Development; and Environmental Sustainability. He encouraged members to actively engage in these initiatives to drive sustainable impact in their communities.
Also speaking, the President-Elect, Rotarian Anya Chukwu, commended attendees for their turnout and reaffirmed the club’s commitment to growth. He disclosed that efforts are ongoing to expand membership, positioning the club to deliver even greater impact through its service projects.
The celebration climaxed with the cutting of the birthday cake, followed by lively music and dancing, rounding off an event that blended purpose with pleasure and left participants with lasting memories.
