RONTOL Showcases Quality Food Products as BOI Projects Industrious Nigerian Amazons on International Women’s Day

RONTOL Foods stood out today as a beacon when Nigerian women marked International Women’s Day in style, showing how creative and industrious they could be at Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Aiming to achieve #Inspireinclusion, a gender-equal world, a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination, the International Women’s Day Conference 2024, organized by the Bank of Industry (BOI) featured several successful businesses inspired by women.

For those who don’t know, women have an anthem. They sang it gleefully, after the Nigerian National Anthem, accompanied by saxophonist, Temidayo Abodunrin.

Compèred by Mojibade Sosanya aka The Lady MC and Nonso Iwunoh aka LUVINC, the event, which ran with the theme ‘Inspire Inclusion’, featured talks, entertainment, and exhibition of products by Nigerian Amazons, hoping to create a world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive – a world where difference is valued and celebrated, and women are encouraged to reach their full potential.

Exhibitors included Rontol Foods, Pink Perfection, Abebi by Tan, Arami, Ava & George, Kaldi Africa, Lady Biba, Luxe Dental, Oriki, and Toriara Naturals.

Hoping to enrich the lives of its customers by bringing quality food to the table, RONTOL Foods displayed a variety of products including Garri, Lafun, Odorless Fufu, and High-Quality Cassava Flour. The patronage was high as people thronged the firm’s stand.

“By sourcing high-standard raw material (cassava), utilizing expert technical knowledge and advanced machinery, and controlling the cycle end to end, we ensure that our products meet the highest quality and food safety standards,” said the CEO of RONTOL Foods, retired DIG Adeleye Oyebade mni.  

With a production capacity of 250,000 kg/year, the RONTOL Foods plant started production in July 2021, supplying cassava-processed products to meet local demand as well as exporting local produce globally. Its Plant Area covers 300,000 sqm/50 hectares of farmland, NewsmakersNG learned.

The Founder and CEO of Lagos Fashion Week and Style House Files, Mrs. Omoyemi Akerele addressed the large audience at Balmoral Convention Centre on the Topic: Shaping the Future of Sustainable Fashion in Nigeria. A Clinical Psychologist at Psychaid Consult – Dr. Ashleigh Osemwegie spoke on Mental and Emotional Wellness for Women, and the Founder and CEO, ReelFruit – Ms. Affiong Williams, spoke on Funding for Different Growth Stages of Business.

Several women shared their success stories. Among them were the Director of Operations at WINWIN Kitchen Ltd, Florence Opawoye; the CEO of Voltaire Lifestyle Services Ltd, Olatoun Candide-Johnson; the Director of Foreshore School, Oyindamola Egbeyemi; the Founder/CEO IO Furniture, Munira Shonibare; Dr. Kofo Olugbesan of Good Intentions Ltd; the Executive Director at Mixta Africa S.A., Shade Hughes; Abimbola Akinkugbe, the CEO at Moulding Technologies Limited, and Mrs. Adebimpe Giwa, GMD, Triple Gee & Company Plc.

In his Welcome Address, the MD/CEO of the Bank of Industry, Dr. Olasupo Olusi, who was represented by the Executive Director of the Micro Enterprise Directorate at the Bank of Industry, Ms. Mabel Ndagi, paid tribute to what he described as the resilience of Nigerian women.

Ndagi spoke about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to ensuring social inclusion and empowerment for women. She said that BOI activities fully embodied the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion in line with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

She said, “To support disadvantaged women and mothers… To this end, the results have started manifesting: More girls are enrolled in schools. Women have occupied record-breaking positions in government and organizations…”

Participants at the event took time to network as they dealt with a variety of sumptuous meals and assorted drinks.

There were electrifying performances by Nigerian singer – Waje and the child saxophonist, Temilayo Abodunrin.
