Rivers, Oyo Record Rise in Daily Infections, as Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Increase by 573

Rivers and Oyo States today experienced rise in their number of daily infections as confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria increased by 573.

Daily figures released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) show that Lagos State recorded 216 news cases followed by Rivers and Oyo with 103 and 68 cases respectively.

Oyo State recorded 16 new cases yesterday while Rivers recorded seven.

According to the centre, four COVID-19 related deaths were recorded in the country today while the number of discharged patients rose to 5,349.

It also disclosed that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country is now 16,658 out which 424 have died.
