The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old former driver, Ayomide Oluwadamilare, in connection with the cold-blooded murder of his former employer, Mr. Kola Adun, a resident of the highbrow River Valley Estate in Ojodu Berger, Lagos.
Adun’s decomposing body, riddled with stab wounds, was discovered inside his locked residence on Ogunmoyero Street on Sunday, July 7, after neighbours raised the alarm over a foul stench oozing from the premises.
According to police spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, the discovery followed a distress call received at the Ojodu Abiodun Police Division. Officers forced their way into the house around 1 p.m. and found the lifeless body of Mr. Adun sprawled on the first floor, with bloodstains marking the scene. His Toyota Camry (Reg. No. AAA 193 GC) was missing.
Suspicion of foul play had surfaced earlier on Sunday morning when a friend who had gone to pick Mr. Adun for church noticed the house gate was oddly locked from the outside, and the victim’s phone had gone unreachable and later switched off.

Preliminary investigations pointed to Oluwadamilare, the deceased’s ex-driver, who allegedly snuck into the home on Saturday, July 5, with intent to rob. He then fatally stabbed Adun before fleeing with his car.
The fugitive was caught when he attempted to sell the stolen vehicle to a car dealer in Ijede, Ikorodu. The dealer, sensing something was amiss, alerted police authorities, leading to the suspect’s swift arrest at the point of sale.
The victim’s body has been evacuated to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, for autopsy.
The case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Abeokuta, where detectives are expected to dig deeper for justice.
