Retired Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tafa Balogun has described the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Atanda Olayiwola Adeyemi III, who joined his ancestors on Friday, April 22, 2022, as a Rare Species and a One-in-a-Million Oba.
Commiserating with the family and the Oyomesi on Saturday, Balogun stated that the Alaafin had a lot of charisma that magnetized him to his people, and that gave him spontaneous mass followership.
He stated: “We should not forget to note that for the departed Alaafin, entire Nigeria was his beloved constituency.
“We greet his children and the entire family and pray that God should give them the fortitude to bear the loss.
“The Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde certainly has lost one of his devoted and ever caring traditional fathers.”
