The Ogun State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the deaths of retired Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard after both were found dead under suspicious circumstances at their residence in Iyana Agodo Village, Ogun State.
The incident was reported to the Owode Egba Division today by a resident who became alarmed by unusual activities around the property and alerted the police.
Police detectives who responded to the distress report discovered signs of forced entry and apparent disturbance within the premises during a preliminary assessment.
According to the Command, the body of the security guard was first found inside the security post, while Ms. Oyesiku’s corpse was later discovered inside her apartment during a thorough search of the residence.
Investigators also observed that the deceased broadcaster’s vehicle was missing from the compound, raising suspicions that the victims may have been attacked by assailants who subsequently fled with the car.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, directed a comprehensive investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the deaths and ensure that those responsible are identified and brought to justice.
The police said surveillance and intelligence-led operations have been intensified across relevant locations as part of efforts to track down the perpetrators.
“The Command has commenced an intensive investigation to unravel the facts, track down, and apprehend the perpetrators of this heinous act, while ensuring that all those involved are brought to justice,” the statement said.
The Ogun State Police Command also extended its condolences to the family of the late broadcaster, the OGTV community, media practitioners, and others affected by the loss.
Police urged members of the public to remain calm, stay vigilant, and provide any useful information that could assist investigators in solving the case.
The Command assured residents that no effort would be spared in uncovering the truth behind the deaths and securing justice for the victims.
