Residents of Abonnema, a Kalabari town in Akuku Toru local government of area of Rivers State that produced Miss World Agbani Darego are fleeing their homes after militants killed three soldiers keeping guard in an area in the community.
According to reports, the soldiers who have been in the region since the Presidential and National Assembly elections had their rifles carted away by the militants.
