Reports circulating on several online platforms on Monday claimed that Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo, had died following complications from an undisclosed illness in Lagos.
However, as of the time of filing this report, there has been no official confirmation from the actor’s family, management team or verified representatives regarding the claims.
Some blogs and entertainment platforms alleged that the actor died after battling health complications, while others claimed he had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Lagos.
The reports have triggered widespread reactions across social media, with fans and colleagues expressing concern and calling for verified information before conclusions are drawn.
Ekubo, who rose to prominence through several Nollywood productions, had largely stayed away from social media and public appearances in recent months, fuelling speculation about his health.
Earlier reports had noted growing concern among fans over his prolonged online absence.
In January, The Whistler reported that the actor had been absent from Instagram and other public engagements for over a year, prompting worried messages from followers asking about his wellbeing.
