Renowned broadcaster and Yoruba poet, Adebayo Faleti, has died, aged 86.
Family sources said he slumped while having his bath at home, on Sunday, in Ibadan.
He was rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan, where he was confirmed dead.
Faleti was among the first set of broadcasters to grace the television screen in Africa at the then Western Nigeria Television (WNTV).
He was responsible for translating the national anthem from English to Yoruba.
The Oyo-born author received many awards, locally and internationally, including the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger.
