Friends of a Nigerian lady, identified as Mirian Crystabel, who allegedly died at a Lagos hospital, Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, while undergoing a body enhancement surgery, have demanded justice for the deceased.
One of the deceased’s friends, with the Twitter handle, @poshcupcake_1, said complained of bleeding immediately after the surgery but the doctor assured her that it is normal.
She claimed that the deceased was, subsequently, left unattended until she bled to death.
The friend, who lives in America, also alleged that the hospital failed to notify her relations about her death for days, until some friends who knew she went for the surgery decided to check on her at the hospital, located at 7 Okunola Aina Street, Mende, Maryland.
That was when they learned that she had died and her body had been deposited in a mortuary.
She, therefore, demanded justice for her late friend, who she claimed died as a result of negligence on the part of the hospital.
She called for the arrest and prosecution of the doctor who performed the procedure and also called on the relevant authorities to probe the activities of the hospital, with a view to shutting it down and confiscating the doctor’s license.
She also shared a video of the moment some relations and friends of the deceased stormed the hospital to confront the doctor, who purportedly carried out the procedure.
In his reaction, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, in a tweet, advised relations of the deceased to report the incident at the police station closest to the location of the incident, as well to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
The hospital, on its website, says it offers “both non-surgical and surgical aesthetic procedures. We are delighted to be able to provide non-surgical aesthetic procedures as alternatives to many of the known surgical aesthetic procedures using our state-of-the-art equipment and cutting-edge technologies”.
