Five members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) have been identified as the dead victims in a passenger bus that was crushed by two containers at Ojota, in Lagos, yesterday.
Newsmakersng had reported yesterday that the 40-feet containers crushed the 18–seater bus killing five passengers, while three others were injured.
Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) named the victims as Pastor Charles Ito and his wife Rosaline, with two of their children and a church worker. They were on their way home from the monthly Holy Ghost vigil at Redemption Camp.
All the victims are from RCCG Province 8.
Two survivors were identified as Olasunkanmi Adeogun, and one Ifeanyi.
The truck carrying the containers allegedly lost two tyres and tilted over near the Bus Rapid Transport Terminal (BRT) at the Ojota end of Ikorodu Road toward Maryland.
The Mack truck conveying two containers marked AKD 663 XF and the 18-seater passenger bus marked FST 944 XR have been taken to LASEMA yard, at Oshodi.
