Amid controversy trailing the change in leadership structure at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Executive Secretary of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN), Pastor Jim Obazee, who was at the centre of the storm.
Last Saturday, the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enock Adeboye had announced a change in baton in the Church’s leadership in Nigeria, as he remains the spiritual leader and Missioner.
According to the Church, the development followed new legal requirements set up by the FRC, guiding all registered churches, mosques, and Civil Society Organisations.
The Law says General Overseers now have a maximum period of 20 years to lead their organizations. And in retirement, they are not permitted to hand over to their families.
“Government remains committed to restoring and enhancing market confidence and improving the Ease of Doing Business in Nigeria,” said Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah.
He added, “Government is committed to strengthening FRC and enhancing its capacity to fulfill its core mandate. FRC is one of the parastatals under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.
“The Council is responsible for setting and promoting compliance with standards for accounting, financial reporting and auditing in Nigeria.
“It also regulates the practices of professionals involved in financial reporting and promotes good practices in financial reporting and corporate governance in Nigeria.”

That's it! Obaze used his position as a fighting tool. Of course, he's expected to fail ! You can't fight the Church simply because you wanted to get at someone.
let us see how it goes
waiting to see how it ends
Swift judgement from God
Getting more interesting!
This is just the begining of Obaze downfall.
