Global human rights group, Amnesty International, has disclosed that it was attacked for the first time since 1967 purportedly by the same Nigerians whose rights it was protecting under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
Amnesty International in a tweet today said its office was first invaded by protesters in March 2017 and subsequently in May 2018 and in August last year.
The tweet read, “We have been working on Nigeria since June 1967. For the first time, faceless protesters invaded our offices, whenever we released a report seeking justice for Nigerians. It happened in: March 2017, May 2018, August 2019.”
