Prime Fighter: Lagos Police Wear Armour of God

  • Pastors, Officers Align Forces

Crime fighters in Lagos have received a new protective covering from the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

While gracing the special End of Year Programme of the Christian Police Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN), Lagos chapter, Adeboye spiritually primed the crime fighters to withstand every storm that might be ahead.

Adeboye, who defied heavy downpour to attend the event initiated by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in Charge of Zone 2, Mr. Umar Manko, prayed for peace and unity in Nigeria.

He spoke on the theme ‘The Anointed Police Officer’, observing that in Nigeria with a large population, securing lives and property is complex and cumbersome.

Recognizing God as the Prime Fighter, Adeboye said policemen needed heavenly anointing to combat criminalities.

His words: “With the country presently going through some security challenges, police officers need spiritual protection in addition to the physical gadgets and tools for combating criminalities in all ramifications.”

In his keynote address, the State Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti, said that the presence of the RCCG leader at a time the nation was preparing for the 2015 elections was a welcome one as it had brought spiritual succour and energized the officers in a strategic state as Lagos.

Those in attendance included AIG Manko, Dr Amos Fenwa, the General Overseer of Holy Ghost Church, Matori, Mushin, Lagos; Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Operations in Lagos, Mr. Babatunde Kokumo, and the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Anti-Bomb Unit, Bola Longe.

The police headquarters also received the revered Pastor Idowu Iluyomade of RCCG’s City of David Parish, Victoria Island.
