Polls: NUJ Opens Election Situation Room in Lagos

The Lagos Council Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Dr Qasim Akinreti, has announced the opening of a situation room for the Presidential and National Assembly election today.

According to a statement signed by the secretary of NUJ Lagos council, Mr Alfred Odifa, the Election Situation Room has been opened at the Union’s Secretariat, at 9A, Iyalla Street, in Alausa, Ikeja.

The statement says, “The Chairman urged all accredited members who will cover the Presidential and National Assembly elections today to display a high level of professionalism and follow the ethics of the profession.

“He also enjoined members on field work to be security conscious in the course of their duties.

“To this end, all Journalists on election coverage in the state are to report any act of impunity against them to the following Hot Lines:

Wishing all members a hitch-free coverage.”
