The Ogun State Police Command has launched a search for a senior officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, and her teenage daughter, Sewa Lasisi, who have been declared missing after leaving their home in Abeokuta.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, the officer and her daughter left their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Sunday, November 2, and have not been seen since.
Oluwamayokun, 39, is a Superintendent Route Commander and a fourth-level senior operational officer in the FRSC, responsible for overseeing multiple routes and coordinating enforcement operations.
Family members and colleagues reportedly became alarmed after repeated attempts to contact both mother and daughter on their mobile phones failed.
“The Ogun State Police Command is seeking the assistance of the general public in locating one SRC Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, a 38-year-old female officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Abeokuta Unit, and her daughter, Sewa Lasisi, who have been declared missing,” the police statement read.
“The report was lodged at the Kemta Divisional Police Headquarters on Tuesday, November 5, 2025, by a Federal Road Safety Officer serving in Abeokuta, in the company of the victims’ family members.
“According to the report, the officer and her daughter left their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Sunday morning, November 2, 2025, and have not returned home since then. All efforts to reach them on the phone have proved abortive.”
The statement added that the Commissioner of Police had ordered a full investigation to determine the circumstances of their disappearance and ensure their safe return.
The command urged members of the public with any useful information about their whereabouts to contact the nearest police station, assuring that all details provided would be treated with the highest confidentiality.
