A family friend has revealed the reason mother of the four-year-old boy, Oreofeoluwa Lawal-Babalola, in a viral 2020 ‘Mummy Calm Down’ video, Toluige Olokoobi Babalola, committed suicide.

The shocking news of her death was made public by an X user, identified as Samuel, yesterday.

The source who requested to remain anonymous, told Newsmakerslive.org that the deceased had been suffering from post-partum depression since she had her third child a year ago and this eventually led to taking her own life.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that the husband of the deceased, Lawal Babalola, who had been in police detention in Benin, Edo State, since the incident happened three days ago was released on bail today.

He reportedly told the police that the family had been battling the depression that eventually led his wife to his wife’s death for about a year.

Efforts by Newsmakerslive.org to speak with the police authorities in Edo State were abortive as at the time of going to press.
