Fourteen top officers, including Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Johnson Babatunde Kokumo mni (psc +), are being pulled out of the Nigeria Police Force today, after 35 years in service.
The officers are the last set of the first set of graduates from the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano – POLAC Course 1/88, to retire.
Other POLAC pioneers participating in the pull-out parade starting by 9 a.m. at the Police College in Ikeja, Lagos are AIG Isaac Akinmoyede fdc, AIG Olatunji Akingbola (psc +), fsi, AIG Andrew Amengheme fdc, AIG Amaechi Elumelu, AIG Ngozi Onadeko psc, fdc, AIG Eboka Friday, AIG Adesina Soyemi, AIG Ashafa Adekunle (psc +), AIG Edward Egbuka, AIG Olawale Olokode psc, AIG Abutu Yaro fdc, CP Adetokunbo Owolabi, and CP Selem Amachree.
The POLAC pioneers are among some 844 Nigerian police officers who are on their way out of the Force.
The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, was founded in 1988. It has now been upgraded by the Federal Government of Nigeria to a degree-awarding institution and the National Universities Commission has, accordingly, recognized the Academy as the 37th Federal University and the 124th University in Nigeria.
