Detectives in Lagos are on the trail of killers of a businesswoman and mother of four who returned home from the United Kingdom to open a hotel in the state.
Mrs Olusola Olusoga Abimbola was murdered on Thursday, January 24, along with her manager, Tunji Omikunle who recently had a set of twins.
The late Mrs Abimbola who studied Business Law and Human Resources at the University of North London was allegedly strangled by estranged workers inside her room at Etashol Hotel and Suites that she opened on Budland Street at Ojodu area of Lagos in January last year after a 34-year-sojourn in the United Kingdom.
“She opened the hotel early January 2018; that was the last time I saw her beautiful face in Lagos. She worked so hard and provided the best for her beautiful 4 children. My dear friend RIP,” says the victim’s friend and school mate, Dola Adeyinka, on her Facebook page.
NewsmakersNG learnt that Mrs Abimbola who marked her 56th birthday on December 13 was bound and strangled, after the assassins did same to her manager that was killed inside a toilet. The criminals were found to have disconnected the CCTV before launching the attack. Neighbours revealed that there had been tension at the hotel since the management called in the police at Ojodu-Abiodun Division to investigate a huge fraud which led to the sack of some workers.
NewsmakersNG learnt that detectives led by DCP Yetunde Longe at the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Panti, Yaba, have arrested and quizzed some suspects.
