The Niger State Police Command has declared an 18-year-old girl, Hadiza Mahmud, missing after she reportedly left her home in Sabon-Wuse, Tafa Local Government Area of the state and has not been seen since.
According to the police, a report of her disappearance was received on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at about 12:30pm.
In a statement issued in Minna and made available to journalists on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, said Hadiza was last seen after she left home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at about 3:00am, heading to an unknown destination.
“She reportedly left home on Tuesday 20/1/26 at about 3am to unknown destination,” the police spokesperson stated.
The police described the missing girl as fair in complexion, without tribal marks, and of average height.
SP Abiodun added that she was last seen wearing a pink hijab and black trousers, noting that she speaks Hausa and English fluently.
The police also disclosed that Hadiza has the following phone numbers: 08149244428 and 09156568038.
The police appealed to members of the public who may have seen her or have any useful information about her whereabouts to assist the ongoing search.
