The police have neutralised the abductors of Folashade Odumosu, wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.

The victim, kidnapped a week ago, regained her freedom yesterday.

The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the rescue to Channels TV this morning.

He disclosed that the operation was led by Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo.

Folashade was kidnapped last Thursday at the entrance of her residence in Arepo, Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

Reports indicate that the assailants dragged her from her SUV and transported her through a swampy area to an undisclosed location.

Adejobi revealed that the police not only secured her release but also recovered the ransom paid as bait to the kidnappers.

However, he declined to disclose the exact amount or the location where she was rescued.
