The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has explained that it is not an offence to take photos or record videos of police officers while carrying out their official duties.

Adejobi explained this in a Twitter post via his personal handle, @Princemoye1, yesterday night.

Adejobi’s explanation came against the backdrop of frequent cases of police officers brutalising innocent citizens for attempting to take their photos or record videos them while engaging in activities considered inappropriate.

Adejobi’s tweet reads, “When you do the right thing, you wont be afraid of being snapped or recorded. There is no crime in taking my pix or video me on duty, same to other policemen. We are public servants and we are the closest to the public, so we should be seen as such.

“We urge our personnel to embrace the citizens and relate with them better. Nigerians can take your pix whenever they feel so, dont take any offence in that.”
