…Suspects allegedly fled with victim’s body, belongings after Ikoyi attack

The Nigeria Police Force has launched a manhunt for two men accused of involvement in the alleged murder of a woman in Lagos and the disappearance of her body after the attack.
The suspects, Ajibola Obateru, 33, and Folawiyo Balogun Alagbado, 32, were declared wanted in separate Special Police Gazette Bulletins issued under the authority of the Inspector-General of Police.
The case is being investigated by the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, Lagos, which listed the two men as wanted in connection with alleged conspiracy and murder.
According to the police bulletins, the crime was committed in the Ikoyi axis of Lagos State.
Police alleged that Alagbado conspired with others to attack the woman, kill her and subsequently make away with her body to an unknown location.
Investigators further alleged that the victim’s personal belongings were stolen by the fleeing suspects and their accomplices.
Obateru, who is being sought in connection with the same case, was similarly accused of conspiring with others to attack the victim before fleeing with her body and personal effects.
The circumstances surrounding the killing, the identity of the victim and what subsequently happened to her remains were not disclosed in the bulletins.
The police descriptions identify both suspects as Yoruba and give their last known addresses as Ibadan, Oyo State, suggesting that investigators may be widening the search beyond Lagos.
Obateru is described as 33 years old, about 5ft 9in tall and of thin build, with an oval face, long nose, small mouth and thin lips. Police described him as fair-complexioned with black hair and a high forehead.
Alagbado, 32, is described as being of average height, dark-complexioned, with an oval face, wide nose, medium lips and round chin.
The Special Police Gazette Bulletins carry the reference CR: 3000/LSX/D18/VOL. 1/68.
Police appealed to members of the public with information that could lead to the arrest of either suspect to contact the nearest police station or the Office of the Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department, Musiliu Smith Street, Panti, Yaba, Lagos.
The bulletins also provided 08038843816 as a contact number for information on the whereabouts of the wanted men.
The allegations against Obateru and Alagbado remain accusations by the police, and the suspects are entitled to the presumption of innocence until proved guilty before a competent court.
