Police Confirm Twitter Hero Dead

As Nigerians were celebrating the feat of a brave policeman who foiled a bank robbery in a video that has gone viral on social media, nobody seemed to know how the story really ended.

Newsmakersng learnt from police authorities that the heroic crime fighter, Sergeant Chukwudi Iboko, unknown to his numerous admirers, died two months after from bullet wounds sustained after he had taken one of the bandits down.

The late Iboko left behind seven children with his wife, Rose.

The police in Imo State, where the incident had happened on February 22, 2017, told Newsmakersng that the three surviving members of the gang were eventually arrested, by the new Commissioner of Police (CP) Chris Ezike, with the use of the images captured on the bank’s CCTV.

Newsmakersng, however, could not confirm if the slain policeman’s family has received any compensation.
