Following the massive turnout of voters in the just concluded governorship election in Anambra State, despite the high rate of insecurity in the Southeast, the state commissioner of police (CP) Echeng E. Echeng has commended the peaceful process.
Conducting journalists around various polling units across the state, Echeng who was accompanied by the head of all the security agencies in the state for the election monitoring, noted that the security agencies have put uptight security, thereby, causing troubleshooters to have a rethink.
He noted that so far, no reported case of insecurity of any form was reported.
He said: “Today, we stand tall. The process has been very peaceful. It’s not rowdy. Voters are very orderly. Things are looking good.
“So far, no report of insecurity has been made. Those reports we got have to do with the functions of election materials. We are on course. “
