Detectives investigating what made the slain outlaw, Henry Chibueze aka Vampire tick have arrested a 55-year-old witch-doctor identified as Iweajuo Gad.
Reports say Gad who hails from Asoeme Town in Aba, Abia State was arrested for using his craft to support criminals.
One of the arrested members of Vampire’s gang led detectives to the Shrine where the witchdoctor was arrested.
The suspect allegedly confessed to have given several bullet repelling charms to Vampire and members of his gang.
He allegedly claimed to have led three other witchdoctors to perform special rituals that aided Vampire’s escape from the High Court in Owerri, after he was given seven names of Prisons Service officers.
Detectives claimed that Gad told them he was given N200, 000 before and N500, 000 after the charm worked.
Vampire was eventually killed in a shootout with the police at Omu Awa forest, in Ikwerre, Rivers State, on March 2, 2017.
