Quick intervention by officers of the Rapid Response Squad has nailed two suspected thieves who allegedly stripped a woman of her jewellery at Oshodi Bus Stop in Lagos.
The suspects, simply identified as Taofeek and Toheeb, accosted their victim on the Oshodi flyover yesterday afternoon.
While Taofeek forcefully removed the victim’s wedding ring from her finger, his accomplice also reportedly removed her earrings before both took to their heels.
The victim, however, raised the alarm which drew the officers’ attention to the incident.
While being pursued by the policemen, Taofeek reportedly threw the wedding ring in his mouth and swallowed it.
Both suspects were eventually arrested and are being detained at the Makinde police station in Oshodi.
