Two soldiers have been held for armed robbery by the police in Katsina State.
According to Katsina police spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, the suspects were nabbed on January 3, at about 4am, following a tip off.
They were identified in a statement as: “1. No.09NA/64/4619 LANCE CORPORAL ABUBAKAR IBRAHIM and 2. No.03NA/54/5527/ LANCE CORPORAL JADUWA TAHLAMA.”
Isah stated: “They were in military camouflage uniform, claiming to be serving members of the Nigeria Army at 2 Battalion, Kaduna State, along Dutsin-Ma – Katsina Road, Katsina State, with a stolen motor vehicle, Ford, 4-Runner model, Navy blue in colour, unregistered, with Chassis No. 6FPPXXMJ2PEU89766 which they are alleged to have snatched at gun point in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Suspects are making useful statements, assisting the police in their investigations.”
